MY GIRL, her first screenplay, was a 2018 official selection of the Beverly Hills Film Festival; And her comedy teleplay HOWARD HALL recently WON Best Teleplay at the 2019 New Hope Film Festival.
Judy has been writing teleplays for over 30 year including scripts for the award-winning PBS children’s series, IT’S A BIG BIG WORLD.
Before that, Judy was one of the creators of STUDENT BODIES. STUDENT BODIES, a teen sitcom for the Telescene Film Group and Fox’s Syndication arm, 20th Television, is the innovative sitcom that cleverly combines live action and animation. Besides creating and writing its bible, Judy was the Story Editor for the shows 66 episodes that are seen in over 30 countries worldwide.
Over the years, Judy has written for A&E, Comedy Central, Viacom Entertainment, The History Channel, Oxygen, HGTV and Discovery Kids.
Judy Spencer graduated as Valedictorian of Hunter College and has been married to her husband Mike for over forty years. They have successfully collaborated on numerous projects over the years, including Molly, age 30, and Ben, who has just been renewed for his 25th year.
